COVID-19: RESPONDING TO THE PANDEMIC
Pacific Health Information Network is worried about the effects of COVID-19 on the countries we serve. The COVID-19 outbreak was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 11 March 2020. Globally, nations are taking actions to reduce and control the spread of the virus.
COVID-19 represents a significant challenge for the Pacific. In most of the countries, access to quality health services is limited, due to a lack of infrastructure, equipment, and qualified personnel. In the current situation, this can limit access to care if the number of infected people increases.
PHIN is actively contributing to regional efforts on outbreak preparedness and maintaining service delivery by sharing information and new ways of supporting preparedness and response to COVID-19. Link up with your peers who are experiencing similar challenges throughout the pandemic period.
